A survey this New Year revealed something extremely intriguing. The results of the survey showed that most Britons would prefer to give up chocolate and sex than do without their broadband connection at home. Out of the 5200 people surveyed, a mere 3% said that they are okay with giving up broadband connection.
The results of the survey vividly show that the lives of the people have become a lot easier with broadband and are not ready to forgo this advantage because of anything. Broadband helps people to find new jobs, shop online and stay in touch with friends. And this saves a lot of money.

All the new Castle Quay development residents of St Heleir are the very first ones to experience the super fast broadband connection from Jersey Telecom. This brand new 1GB connection is almost 50 times faster than the recently launched 20Mb broadband speeds that are available to almost quarter of the population in the island.
Jersey Telecom, a company owned by the government, said that it will be investing around 40 million pounds in fiber optic network. The CEO of Jersey Telecom, Graeme Miller said that this super fast broadband internet is a “real landmark”. He maintained that this will add a new dimension to the lives of the people living in the island.

It is being expected that the government is to look into the issue of the broadband connectivity in the rural areas. The rural areas still use the dial up connection to stay connected, while the rest of the world has moved on to the 4G network. Keeping this in mind the FCC has decided to expand and extend the Broadband service to these areas.
The stand that the government has taken officially so far is that while the rural areas are a priority, the whole idea of taking Broadband to these areas is going to be quite expensive. That is exactly why the FCC has decided to allocate certain funds for this mammoth project.
