Broadband Phone and Digital TV Bundles

Posted on the August 10th, 2011 under Broadband by

Are you tired of getting so many bills every month? When multiple direct debits are set up with your bank account, it can often feel like budgeting is tricky. One bill gets paid and then the next week another lot of money goes out, and so on. However, just like some people choose to consolidate their debts, you can choose to pay for your broadband phone and digital TV all at the same time. If you use all three of these services already, then putting them together could not only save you money but also give you a bit of peace of mind.

So which companies offer these bundle packages? Well Sky, BT, and Virgin all do as you might expect. BT offer recording capabilities, on demand television, and HD. Virgin offer catch up services, on demand content, and over 65 channels. And Sky offer over 200 channels, recording, and HD channels.

Sky offers something a little extra as well. As an incentive to join them they will provide free connection and a £25 gift voucher. However, they’re certainly one of the more expensive providers, so unless you’re certain it’s what you need then don’t get drawn in by these offers.

Virgin also offers something a little different. The ability to add mobile broadband and mobile phone packages to the mix as well. This can be tempting because you might enjoy the convenience of these payments all going out at once, however make sure you use a TV, phone, and broadband comparison service before buying into this idea, because otherwise you might end up paying too much for the service.

If you’re uncertain about what to do then read reviews and ask around. Whether it’s Sky TV, Virgin Media, or Orange broadband reviews you’re after, there will be information available online to help you make an informed decision.

Mistakes Often Ignored On The Part Of Bloggers

Posted on the July 22nd, 2011 under Tech News by

In every market, niche markets always pop up that offer services or get-rich-quick opportunities that incorrectly portray the multi-faceted approach that’s necessary to have a decent blog. Though good marketing and SEO approaches have proven to be essential toward this aim, there are common mistakes often perpetrated on the part of bloggers that end up doing irreparable harm to your site’s reputation and efficacy. Some of these bypassed blunders include:

Targeting An Audience That’s Too Broad

One of the basic principals behind blogging is to get people interested in hearing what you have to say. This is obviously paramount to the process, but when your blog content becomes too general is when a site can become irrelevant. You have to recognize who your target audience is. The online world is full of niches. Unless you’re a huge, multi-national site, you don’t want to be so neutral that you’re ignoring who’s really interested in your services or opinion. Don’t alienate anyone, but you also need to understand who it is you’re trying to attract.

It’s A Marathon, Not a Sprint

Don’t keep your focus on the short-term side of things. If you’re into your blog because you bought into the hype of getting rich in a short amount of time, don’t expect to have any long-term success. If you don’t think that people will notice, you’re wrong. There’s just too many people out there doing the exact same thing and taking the same short-sited approach.

Inflexibility

You may be in love with a current marketing strategy, service, or approach, but not being able to adapt will get you passed by in short order. For example, you may love one product, but if you’re only focusing on promoting one portion of a market, you’re not going to be seen as an authority. This isn’t the same as knowing your audience. If we’re talking about mobile devices and you’re only stuck on applications for a specific phone, then you’re not talking about all the other things they can do, like find a phone number or search through massive archives of information. You want to have an audience, but you don’t want to talk about the same thing over and over again.

Lack of Representation

If you’re constantly shilling for a company or product, and providing no constructive advice, your readers will feel a severe lack of representation. It’s fine if you’re being paid to review a product, but you have to be honest and within reason. Talk about a product or service but also keep the reader in mind.

Perhaps the biggest mistake often made by bloggers, if you can glean anything from the advice above, is that all of these issues relate to a communication breakdown between the blogger and the reader. Readers will give you the traffic you need to have a successful blog, but realize that they’re not there just to make you money or massage your ego. Keep them in mind when you’re considering different approaches to create and sustain a better blog.

Cheap SSL Certificates – Three Basic Methods of Validation

Posted on the July 20th, 2011 under Tech News by

Free and cheap SSL certificates at times come along with the web hosting package for your online business website. They provide a safe and secured online payment gateway for the customers so that the confidential data they provide on your website does not leak out. The question that arises here is that how do they protect the confidential data. Well, it simply encrypts the data into another code that is incomprehensible by others except the server. This finally results into a high-level security of the data and prevents it from getting leaked and misuse by fraudsters.

However, when you plan to purchase Cheap SSL Certificates, you may come across dedicated SSL certificates. They are provided as a part in dedicated web-hosting package. They come to use by linking to the customer’s domain name rather than to the web host’s domain name. Majority of you may not know about the methods of validation of Cheap SSL Certificates. Well, there are three basic types of validation methods ranging from least secured to the highly secured.

1. (DV) Domain Validation: In this method, the users’ contact information undergoes a comparison from the database for the domain name of the website.
2. (OV) Organizational Validation: In this method, the business itself undergoes validation along with the comparison and verification of the physical as well as the web address.
3. (EV) or Extended Validation: This method is the most systematic and it enables a green address bar against the domain name. This green bar indicates the level of security.

HTC myTouch 4G Slide Could Prove to Be Fastest Smart Phone Available

Since it’s release, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has been titled the “Fastest Smart Phone Avaiable” with a Quadrant score near 3,053. However, the upcoming release of the HTC myTouch 4G Slide, could give Samsung a run for their money.

The new Samsung Galaxy S2 is loaded with excellent features including the fast 1.2 GHz Orion chipset, but HTC has been repeatedly producing market leaders in the last year. Both the release of the ThunderBolt and Sensation 4G had iPhone users wondering why they were paying twice as much and having to make more of a commitment for the same services, and the release of the myTouch 4G Slide will surely have Galaxy S2 users having similar buyers remorse.

Similar to the Galaxy S2, the myTouch 4G Slide will run off the Android 3.2 or Gingerbread Juice Android operating systems. Although iPhone users swear by Apple’s operating system, Android is unique as it allows smart phone users greater software compatibility and customization. Apple definitely has it down in terms of creating an efficient and easy-to-use system, but in order for it to function correctly users are only allowed Apple programs. This isn’t the case with Android phones.

Aside from the operating system and similar processing speeds, the myTouch 4G Slide doesn’t have much more in common with the Samsung Galaxy S2.

• 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor

• LCD display with 800×480 screen resolution

• 8 MP rear-facing camera

• Front-facing VGA camera

• HTC Sense 3.0

• 1080p HDMI Video Camcorder

The iPhone5 is set to have a camera with dual-LED flash, but currently the HTC camera reigns supreme. Not only is the rear-facing camera 8MP, but it also has other awesome features to truly enhance a photographers picture taking experience. Basic features include:

• Excellent low-light performance

• Clear shot in bright environments

• Zero shutter lag

• Sweepshot for wide panoramic photos

• Capability to snap multiple photos at once

On the myTouch 4G Slide, photo can be easily edited and shared seamlessly. Those interested in the smart phone’s video capabilities can easily do the same and also have the ability to connect their phone to their flat screen at home so that they can host private screenings.

Needless to say, the myTouch 4G Slide is a media lover’s dream, and will definite be tough to beat once on the market. The release of the myTouch 4G Slide also provides further proof that 4G Android phones are no longer interested in competing with Apple as much as they are with competing with themselves which will only benefit current Android users as faster and higher functioning phones will continuing hit the market.
